A week of firsts

This week was Mommy's first week back at school, Daddy's first week with a new work schedule 1145-830, and your first week at Miss Denise's house.  Wow, we all had a week of adjustments!!  Mommy didn't do as bad with the changes as I though I would, I cried Sunday, a little bit on Monday, a lot on Wednesday while I was driving to school and looked in the mirror and saw your empty seat and a little on Thursday because I just couldn't get enough hugs and kisses from you I missed you so much.  All in all I feel like I did better than expected.
Daddy did pretty well with his change in schedule too. Monday he was a running a tad late, Tuesday he lost his keys and you weren't cooperating but Wed-Fri went smoothly.

He even took you on a morning walk and let you have some play time with your friends.
(as he called it)

Here are some pictures Miss Denise took this week...you really like it there!

8th (and last...tear) Week Home With Mommy

This week was our last week at home until summer break and Mommy has taken time to soak it all in!  I am truly going to miss being here with you but I think it will be best for us to get into a routine and Mommy does miss teaching.  On Tuesday and Thursday you spent some time with Miss Denise, (she will be watching you when Mommy and Daddy are at work).  It was hard for Mommy to leave you there when she ran errands and got her haircut but it did feel nice to know you were in good hands.

2 Months Old

You are 2 months old today and getting MORE beautiful each and every day!!!  You had your 2 month check up with Dr. Beardman today, she is so please with how fast you have grown and how well you are doing.  You have met all of your 2 month developmental milestones, not bad for being born 4 weeks early!  You are on the growth charts for weight, and just barely for height.  Hopefully that changes when we go back for your 4 month visit at the end of May!  I hope and pray you will to be taller than me! =)Mommy still looks at you with amazement, I am in awe of just how perfect you are, and each day my love for you grows.

Week 6...Poor Little Lady...TIMES THREE

Where to begin...
Tuesday I had to take you back to see Dr. Beardman because your thrush had not gone away with the gentain violet medicine.  While we were there we noticed you had a sore under your tongue which Dr. Beardman said was a reaction from the gentain violet.  She gave us new medicine for thrush and sent us on our way.  That day you weren't eating very well and were acting so fussy and sleepy.  Once Daddy came home we notcied that you felt hot.  Mommy took your temperature with the head scan thermometer and it said 101.6!!! I thought that couldn't be right so then we had to take it rectally and it was 101.7!!! Mommy called Children's Mercy's nurse line and they told us to bring you to urgent care immediately.  So we packed up a bag for you and were on our way.  Once we got there, they seemed very worried which made Mommy very sad.  We weren't there but 20 minutes when they told us they needed to do a few tests and because the fever was so high you needed to be admitted into the hospital.  Oh boy, that's when the water works came.  Mommy started to cry because I felt so helpless, there was nothing I could do for you Baby. The transport people came and off we went to the hospital.
Once at the hospital they continued with the tests and explained to us their concerns.  Because you were so young they had to rule out serious illnessed, such as meningitis, RSV and some others.  They also were concerned with the sore on your tongue, they thought it looked like a leasion that comes from HSV-I.  Mommy tried to explain to them that Dr. Beardman said the leasion was from Gentian Violet but they weren't listening.  Luckily that night your fever broke, and the intitial tests were coming back negative for everything.  We thought we would be sent home on Wednesday but because of that darn sore on your tongue, we had to wait 72 hours for the actual test to be read.  Luckily after a VERY stressful and hard 4 days of this we were released Friday night.
I must say it was extremely scary seeing you in the hospital and knowing I couldn't take away your pain but I am so thankful to god that it was just a virus that caused you to have a fever and nothing more.
On the bright side, you were such a strong little girl and kept your happy spirit almost the whole time we were there, which made Mommy and Daddy LOVE you even more (if that's even possible)

Poor little lady...times 2

Today we went to Aunt Nancy's house to keep her company since she had surgery on Tuesday and while she was holding you, you yawned so big and she noticed your tongue was white.  Aunt Nancy asked me if your tongue was always white and I told her yea I think so.  She then told Mommy to get a q-tip and we would try to wipe it off, if it was milk it would come off, if it was thrush it wouldn't.  Well...you guessed it, you have thrush.  :(  Mommy called the Dr and they had us get gentain violet, you are supposed to get it painted on your tongue, the roof of your mouth and your cheeks.  No biggie right?!  WELL...it dyes your whole mouth dark violet (hints the name).  So needless to say, this weekend you will be our little purple mouth baby!  Luckily thrush doesn't harm you, because we are treating it promptly.  I am praying it will go away quickly because you have been through enough this week!
Here's a pic of you with your violet mouth...my poor little lady
